You're really ready to heal.
You've talked about it. You've tried to let it go.
But the memories still linger.
Your body still reacts.
The panic, the shutdowns, the shame they keep showing up.

If you've been stuck in the same loops no matter how hard you try, you're not broken. Your nervous system is doing its best to protect you.
And it's possible to show it a new way gently.

What is EMDR Therpay?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. A powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories and experiences.

But here's what that actually means:
You don't have to relive the worst moments of your life to heal from them.
EMDR helps you move through trauma without getting stuck in it, so your nervous system can finally stop sounding the alarm.
-
PTSD and complex trauma
-
Childhood abuse or neglect
-
Anxiety and panic attacks
-
Dissociation or emotional numbness
-
Sexual trauma
-
Medical trauma or accidents
-
Phobias or persistent fears
-
Negative self-beliefs ("I'm not good enough," "It was my fault," etc.)
Even if the event feels "small" or like you should be "over it", if it still affects you, it's valid. And EMDR can help.
What EMDR looks like at Elemental Intuition
Our EMDR sessions are gentle, supportive, and paced with you in mind.
You stay fully awake and in control throughout the process.
We use tools like bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or tones) to help your brain reprocess what's stuck, like untangling a knot that's been there for years.
This is not a one-size-fits-all method. We move slowly, collaboratively, and with deep respect for your lived experience.

How does it work?
1. Assessment & Preparation
The EMDR process begins with a thorough assessment by a trained therapist. They will gather your history, understand your specific issues, and help you develop coping mechanisms to handle any distress that may arise during the sessions.
2. Targeting Memories
Once you're prepared, the therapist will help you identify specific memories or experiences that need reprocessing. These targets often include traumatic events, negative beliefs about oneself, and distressing emotions.
3. Desensitization
Once you're prepared, the therapist will help you identify specific memories or experiences that need reprocessing. These targets often include traumatic events, negative beliefs about oneself, and distressing emotions.
4. Installation
After the desensitization phase, the therapist will help you install positive beliefs to replace the negative ones associated with the traumatic memory. This strengthens your sense of self and fosters a more adaptive understanding of the experience. Phase 5 is typically shorter than Phase 4.
5. Body Scan
In this phase, you will be guided to scan your body for any residual tension or distress. This helps ensure that the memory has been fully reprocessed and integrated.
6. Closure
Each session concludes with closure, ensuring you feel grounded and safe before leaving.
7. Reevaluation
In subsequent sessions, the therapist will reevaluate the progress and address any new targets that may arise.
